OUR HISTORYOur HISTORY
In 1987, after eleven years working with a national Chartered Accounting firm, Brian Popp founded Brian J. Popp, Chartered Accountant. Located at 1575 Ouellette Avenue in Windsor, Ontario, he operated as a sole proprietor with a secretary. His practice quickly expanded and he progressively hired additional staff to meet the needs of his clients. In 1991, he relocated to 380 Eugenie St. E.
In 1992, Mario Parete joined Brian to form Popp & Parete Chartered Accountants. Mario brought with him many years of experience as a public accountant and as a controller. The expansion of the practice resulted in a need for a larger office, and the firm moved to 2557 Dougall Avenue in 1997.
Pasquale (Pat) Russo joined the firm in 1997 to form Popp Parete Russo LLP. Pat had previously been working at a national Chartered Accounting firm, specializing in income and commodity taxes. The practice continued to grow and within a few years the firm was again faced with the challenge of providing office space for the growing staff and client base. The partners set out to design and build an office that would fulfill their present and future needs.
In 2003, the practice moved to 2861 Temple Drive. Located centrally in the city and close to the EC Row expressway, the location was chosen so that it would be easily accessible and would provide plenty of free parking.
In 2012, the firm continued its growth, with the addition of two new partners, Meredith Popp and Nathan Leno, to become Popp Parete Russo Leno LLP.
In 2015, the firm became Popp Russo Leno LLP with the departure of Mario Parete.
Nick Jones joined the partnership to form Popp Leno Jones LLP with the retirement of Pat Russo in September, 2023.
